Indoor air quality
Indoor air quality and humidity control in Brunswick, GA
Indoor air quality work targets what your air conditioner alone cannot fix: moisture, dust, and what is growing in the ductwork. It means dehumidification, duct sealing, better filtration, and UV. You need it when rooms feel sticky at 74, closets smell musty, or allergies are worse indoors.

Signs you need this
On the coast, comfort is a moisture problem before it is a temperature problem. Air at 78 and 50 percent humidity feels better than 74 and 65 percent, and costs less to make.
- The thermostat reads 74 but the house feels clammy, and bed linens and towels never quite dry out.
- A musty smell when the system first kicks on, or a closet or hall bath that always smells like mildew.
- Condensation on vents, windows, or toilet tanks, and mildew spotting on baseboards or leather furniture.
- Dust returning on surfaces two days after cleaning, or black streaking around supply registers.
- Allergy or asthma symptoms that are worse inside the house than out in the yard.
- The house sat closed up during a trip, or a storm let water into a crawl space or duct run.

Step 1
Arrival
We start where you notice the problem — the sticky room, the smelly closet — instead of at the equipment.
Step 2
Diagnosis
We log temperature and relative humidity in several rooms, check runtime and airflow, inspect ducts and the crawl space, and look at the drain and coil.
Step 3
The quote
A written plan in order of impact: seal ducts first, then filtration, then a dehumidifier if the numbers actually call for one. We will tell you when you do not need the extras.
Step 4
The work
Duct sealing and filter cabinets are typically a day. We re-measure humidity after installation so you can see the change, not just take our word for it.
What it costs, before we start
If we are chasing a problem on an existing system, the $95 diagnostic applies and is credited toward the work you approve that day. Quotes for added equipment on their own are free.
Everything is priced in writing before we start, and we sequence it honestly: sealing leaky ducts is cheaper than a dehumidifier and usually fixes more. We would rather sell you the $600 fix that works than the $3,000 one that does not.
Price match on any fair local quote for the same equipment, and 0% financing for 18 months on approved credit for larger air quality packages.
- Diagnostic fee
- $95 for a full diagnosis, credited toward the repair if you approve it that day.
- Quotes
- Written, itemised, and given before any work starts.
- Price match
- We match any fair local quote on the same equipment. Bring the paperwork.
- Financing
- 0% for 18 months on approved credit.
Questions we get
What humidity should I aim for in a coastal Georgia house?
Between 45 and 55 percent indoors. Above 60 percent is where mildew, dust mites, and that heavy feeling start, and it is very easy to sit there all summer here when equipment is oversized and short-cycles. Below 40 percent is unnecessary for our climate.
Will a whole-house dehumidifier make my power bill worse?
It adds its own draw but usually lowers the total, because you stop overcooling the house to chase comfort. Most customers end up setting the thermostat two degrees higher and feeling better at the same time.
Do I need duct cleaning?
Less often than the mailers suggest. Cleaning helps after construction, a rodent problem, or water intrusion. If ducts are simply leaky or sweating in a hot attic, sealing and insulating them fixes far more than a vacuum truck does, and we will say so.
Are UV lights and fancy filters worth it?
A UV lamp at the coil earns its keep here — a wet coil in this humidity is where biofilm grows, and that is the musty smell. A 4-inch media filter is a genuine upgrade over a 1-inch fiberglass. Ozone generators and add-ons that promise to sterilise your whole house are not something we sell.
Every hour without AC gets worse.
